Cowboy Cookies

Back in 2010, I posted the cute little gift idea for this one - cookie mix in a jar. I FINALLY got around to actually making the cookies.

(Print)
What you need:
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup M&Ms
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:

Because this recipe is for mason jars (minus the wet ingredients), I threw all of this into my mixer. However, if you want to do it the traditional way: Cream together butter with sugars. Add egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients. Stir in oats, chocolate chips, M&Ms, and pecans.

Form into balls and place on a cookie sheet.

Bake at 350* for 10 to 12 minutes. Let set for 2 minutes and remove to a wire rack.

Makes around 3 dozen cookies.
